Senate Form Filler

I wanted to be able to message all US senators at once through their email form. So I created a piece of code that fills their forms through selenium and writes a message I prepared. Just to give a little context, it was the beginning of quarantine and I wanted to send them all messages and create a way to do that. Selenium allows you to start a chrome page on a website and click features and put text in the form which was helpful for building this. Here was the message though that I wanted to send:

'Dear {Insert Senator Name}, I am writing this message from a deep state of boredom in my family home in Philadelphia. I know that I am not from your great state of {Insert State Name}, but I wanted to come to you today and propose I help you. See, I care deeply about this crisis that is affecting millions of Americans and wanted to see what I could do to help. I will do my best to help you, your staff, or anyone you feel could use some help. I could, for example, write messages to anyone that you think may just need some cheering up in your community. \n I am a Junior at Tufts University studying quantitative economics and International relations, and thus I don't have loads of money to offer, but I do have time and like they say time is money. I am inspired to do this because, in this moment, I believe the American people need to come together and also because today I remember the words "ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country" As one of the elected representatives of this country, you are the leaders we look up to in these hard times. You represent our interests and embody may be better than anyone American resilience. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you. I know you may be busy, but I am willing to do big and small. Thank you for your service to this nation. Your Friend, Michael Wrede'

Code Details:

The code would log onto this website and then start running down the list and sending my message to the senators. The goal was to open the link and then start filling the form with my message and details. It's a simple code, but it could give me enormous power to message all of them in a matter of minutes. I thought it would be very cool.

Challenges:

So I emailed about 65% of the list meaning I didn't get them sent to everyone. The reason was that each form was different and meant that my code didn't work for all of them. I got stuck on captcha for some of them (which are impossible to beat ), while for others their forms looked wildly different meaning my code wouldn't fill it. Others had multiple pages to click through. These challenges made it hard to get 100% of the forms filled, although I still was able to send many emails which is awesome. The sad part is that I didn't receive any responses which makes sense given the amount of work senators have during these times.
