My texts with Bernie Sanders

About a year ago I started receiving texts from Bernie Sanders campaign. I think I had given them my number when I asked for a free sticker. I am by no means a supporter, but I love getting these texts. Here are those texts.

The first text came from Brian:

Brian was a nice guy, but I needed more time. Then I reached out again, but no response...

Then it was Jose!

I was excited to hear from what I thought to be Jose again. I wanted to ask my Bernie texters about why they supported Bernie Sanders. Here is what they texted back:

It was a new person!!! Gail's response was long and well thought out. I enjoyed being able to engage with her about her experience with Bernie. She was obviously a strong supporter, but I had one more question. I wanted to know how Bernie would work in an increasingly partisan world:

Then there was Michelle. I asked her what I thought to be a pertinent question with the rise of two progressives: What's the difference between Warren and Sanders? Here was her response:

I finished by thanking her for giving her time to a campaign. Political involvement is the best way to have your voice heard and I appreciate all that these supporters have done to answer my questions and engage with me about Bernie. I look forward to our continued conversations. I may even have to start signing up with other campaigns. We'll see how these primaries turn out, but good luck to those on the phones because they are real people who truly do care. I encourage everyone to try this and stay engaged.
